Pope Francis to Visit Mongolia
Head of the Holy See Pope Francis will pay a State Visit to Mongolia from August 30 to September 4 at the invitation of President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, reports the President's Press Department.
It will be the first-ever visit of the Pope to Mongolia. Last year marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Holy See.
The Secretary for Relations with States within the Holy See’s Secretariat of State, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher is currently paying an Official Visit to Mongolia at the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs B. Battsetseg on June 4-8. Within the framework of the Visit, just now Minister B. Battsetseg has held official talks with the Secretary for Relations with States within the Holy See’s Secretariat of State, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, and discussed expanding the bilateral relations and cooperation and some international issues of mutual interest.
The visit of Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher is also the first high-level visit from the Holy See to Mongolia.
